London City Ballet
Robert Heindel American Painter (1938 - 2005) Mixed Media on Board 36 inches (w) x 37 inches (h) During 1987/88 Heindel spent a considerable time in London in order to observe all aspects of a new ballet, 'The Garden of Eros' which he was instrumental in commissioning. The ballet itself explored human fraily, temporary abandonment of love in favour of temptation. The material, sketches and images, Heindel gathered from that experience formed the core of his 1988 exhibition in London's Royal Festival Hall. During the ensuing years he returned to 'Eros' to create new drawings and paintings such as 'Dancers in White'.
