A poem from a German medieval dance-of-death woodcut, the 'dance-house' it refers to is death, was in part the inspiration for David Bintely's ballet of the same name. Bintley invited Robert Heindel to design the set and constumes for this most powerful ballet which was premiered early in 1995 by the San Fancisco Ballet.
