Robert Heindel American Painter (1938 - 2005) Oil on Vellum
Robert Heindel American Painter (1938 - 2005) Oil on Vellum 10 inches (w) x 10 inches (h) During almost thirty years of painting and drawing dance, Heindel preferred to work to an ever increasing scale. Panels of four feet square were common. For most of the years he resisted the calls to paint on a smaller scale. With gentle persuasion from his representative gallery in The Netherlands he yielded a suite of ten works each just ten inches square. All ten sold immediately a fact which the artist found of great encouragement. That he enjoyed making them was a fact for they had all the spontaneity of his more familiar graphite studies. These smaller colour works would precede larger paintings or he would work out something for the future.
